Miniature split-core current transformers (CTs) offer mA and mV output based on the ratio to the source and the rating of the individual unit. Such split-core CT series can be connected directly to compatible sub-meters and do not necessitate sub-meters to include internal current transformers for accurate monitoring. This benefit allows one meter to be used for various sources with different current levels just by utilizing different CTs. In addition, each individual CTs includes an over-voltage protection circuit as additional layers of safety and reliability measures. The split-core design allows for easy installation in existing architecture. For the use of retrofit applications, including power meters, data loggers, chart recorders, and other instruments, compact size and easy installation would be the best premium.
